Victorian gold filled carved MOP pearl horse head pendant on cowhide watch fob

Description

Today I am selling a magnificent Victorian horse head watch fob pendant. The head is carved out of a solid piece of mother of pearl and is wrapped with gold filled wires to form the harness, bit, blinders and reins. The fob is attached to a long thin piece of brown and beige cowhide with a square mother of pearl buckle and gold filled prong and slides. A short chain and clasp complete the fob.
CONDITION: Very good for its age. One ear is chipped on the horse head, and it is dirty in the crevices. Significant tarnish to the gold filled metal. Some wear to the cowhide.
CIRCA: Late Victorian era
MEASUREMENTS: the horse head is almost 1 1/16 inches tall and 1 9/16 inches from nose to base of neck; the cowhide is about 4 1/2 inches long
