CYNDI LAUPER / TRUE COLORS / RARE LITHOGRAPH ART POSTER
An American singer and actress, Cyndi Lauper achieved success in the mid-1980s when she became the first female singer to have 4 top-five singles released from one album ("She's So Unusual"). She released 11 albums and over 40 singles and as of 2008 has sold more than 25 million records worldwide.
"True Colors", her second album, released on September 15, 1986. It reached #4 on the Billboard 200. She increased her involvement both in production and songwriting. It contained 3 high-charting singles, including the title track which became her 2nd song to hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100, "Change of Heart" and "What's Going On".
The album cover was composed by Annie Leibovitz, an American portrait photographer noted by the New York Times as "one of the world's most successful photographers ..."
You are viewing the authentic "first run" graphic art "limited edition" lithograph created in 1986 for the promotion of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" album. Please know that CBS, Inc. published this lithograph, working directly with my father, a Master lithographer, in the plate approval process, the ink blend selections and the ultimate creation of this work of art. In other words, the point of origination of this specific piece is from the first printing, with the original plates, taken directly off the press. A signed "Letter of Provenance" to this effect comes with the piece.
Only the highest quality high gloss paper was used for this production. The piece has never been matted, framed, hung nor displayed, but has been properly stored, undisturbed, since creation. The lithograph which you are considering is in near mint/mint condition, clean, untouched and suitable for framing.
The dimension of the lithograph is 23"x 23".
The lithographic workmanship in this creation is detailed and extraordinary. The colors are robust, vivid and vibrant. This would be an exciting addition for any fan collecting
