Beautiful antique French reliquary case
2,5 inches high by 2,5 inches wide (6,5cm)
which contains a relic of
St.Mary Magdalene
, follower, friend and desciple of Jesus Christ who was also present at the crucifixtion.
Ornate golden brass case in the shape of a flower, decorated on front with numerous colored glass gem stones.
The interior compartment is under glass on a gold cloth backing with gold cord border trim and a colored image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The relic is placed on a backing under the name label which reads
" Ste.Marie Magdeleine ".
The back case cover can be removed to view the red strings seals and the official red wax Church seal with Bishop's hat and stem, all are present and intact.
Antique ornate reliquary in excellent condition with minor signs of wear and age.
A portion of the hanging hook on the backing seems to be broken off or missing, please view close-up photo.
