Antique Planters salted peanuts store display jar
The shape is considered to be the "football"
Raised lettering on two sides designate the product as "Planters salted-peanuts"
Peanut finial on lid
Bottom marked Made in USA
Square base has texture on the outside bottom of the jar
Bottom has wear consistent with age
Unsure of the date of manufacture, but my guess is that it's from the early part of the twentieth century
No cracks or repairs
There are a few bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process
There is a very faint water line 1/3 of the way down from the top of the jar
The round disc that is located on the lid under the peanut finial has
a rough area on the edge
.  It's hard to see without close inspection and I have tried to show it in the pictures
Height to top of finial 9"
Base measures 6 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Lid has a 7" total diameter
Jar opening is approximately 6"
