New Old Stock Antenna antenna kit for 1966 1967 1968 Galaxie LTD 7L XL 500 models, for front fender mounting.   There is what may be a foam gasket that did not survive 50 years in storage and has degraded to goo.  Some finger prints on the mast as a result of touching this stuff...
If you look at the pic of the rectangular chrome bezel you can see the foam residue stuck to the chrome. Chrome is good, just that this foam is all over it and inside the paper back.   Chrome will clean off easily, but I'm leaving it the way I found it for the most part. Doesn't change the function.... it is basically as found!
Mounting hardware and installation applications and instructions are included in the original box.
I also have a 69 style that is retained with four small screws.... and another 66-68 Antenna mast only... See my other auctions.
This may work OK on 1965 models, although the parts books says there is a unique 65 unit, it is replaced with a unique later 1973 kit version, which differs again from the 66-68 later 1973 kit replacement.....don't know why.
Due to length there will likely be oversize charges by USPS for this.....if their calculator is working properly!  Will rebox in larger box to protect this piece.
